What I Thought I Knew

by Angelo Zantua

Years and years of existence have granted man knowledge about life and the world around him. There are things, especially about life and money, that man in general hold to be true. No questions asked.

The Holy Scriptures show us, in contrast to the principles of man, the principles of the Bible. For man, in order to receive the greatest return, he must keep all his money to himself. He must use and invest all his finances to benefit himself alone. All for his sake; this is the way to riches. In the Bible, in order to receive, one must give. He who gives more for the work of the Lord, receives more from God, (Luke 6:38). And in doing such he stores for himself great and many riches.

For man, in order to live, he must do all he can to maintain and preserve his health. He must avoid anything that can tamper or interfere with his life and well-being. In the Bible, he who gives his life for the gospel receives eternal life.

And in order for us to avoid being embarrassed in the kingdom of Heaven, we must bear the shame and embarrassment now for the sake of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Life as man knows ends with his death. In the Bible, we can receive eternal life through Christ our Lord and Savior. Life does not end in the grave. Would you let yours?

Memory Verse:
Mark 8:38
“Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
