His Love

by Lorie Lopez

Life will not always be a bed of roses. Consider yourself fortunate if you feel as though you're lying on one right now. But life will always have its ups and its downs. It could be your own foolish pride bringing you down. It could be that even with the best of intentions, things don't go the way you want them to be. It could be that because of your stubbornness, you are allowed to freely do as you please, only to find out you should've listened to the warnings in the first place.

Life would teach you so many things in so many different ways. Sometimes funny. Sometimes a welcome surprise. Sometimes cruel. Sometimes hurtful. Most of the time, you tend to ignore the goodness of it all. You take it all for granted because you see it as the natural course. It's the harshness that make you reflect upon the lesson. Sometimes understanding comes quick, and acceptance is easy. Sometimes, though, the impact is so overwhelming you are caught off balance. You question. You get angry. You become confused. You begin to doubt.

And that's when life reminds you that the moment you start to doubt, you are no longer a believer. For one who believes would hold on firmly to the faith. That there's no need to worry about tomorrow because God would take care of it. That all things work together for good with those who love Him. That there's no need to be discouraged because things are going the way they should be. That this troubling moment for now is meant to discipline, to strengthen, to enlighten.

So do not lose hope! Just take the lesson, continue to grow, and benefit from bearing the scars from the whip life lashes at you.

Memory Verse:

Hebrews 12:6
"Because the Lord corrects everyone he loves, and punishes everyone he accepts as a son."
