An hour before the service starts, One Esplanade is vastly occupied with brethren and visitors alike to witness the much-anticipated 29th Church Anniversary and Thanksgiving Service of the Manila locale.
The celebration started with the parade of church elders, ministers, program partakers together with Jerusalem Area Coordinator, Ptr. Mona Quillao and church bishop and overseer, Bish. Osie Quillao. Bro. Kemuel Quillao led the congregation in singing praises unto God, followed by the opening prayer headed by Ptr. Rudy Del Rosario; both are home-grown ministers of Manila locale. A lively rendition of the song Give It Away was presented by the Sucat Male Chorus. Ptr. Mona Quillao gladly welcomed everyone who also includes MCA students, parents and visitors.
The church in Manila is also noted for its great music ministry. For this event, Dokimos Big Band together with New Creation Chorale and Sphragis Strings Ensemble rendered soulful performances of Christian songs and classic hymns medley. This deeply moved the congregation for a heartfelt worship and thanksgiving unto the Lord. The message of blessings was delivered by Sucat head minister, Ptr. Ruben Ventura.
Bishop Osie Quillao ministered the Word of God with the topic “The Significance of Being Called by God”. He reminded everyone that indeed God calls people who will serve Him through the approved people of God. MCA students also graced the affair through songs of praise. Sis. Gladys Claire Quillao hosted the event. (Meg Fernandez)
