Greater Manila Fellowship Prays for Clean, Honest, Peaceful Election

May 1, 2016: Eight days before the coveted Philippine National Elections, the Pentecostal Missionary CHURCH of CHRIST (4th Watch) of Metro Manila and nearby provinces gathered together to pray for a clean, honest, and peaceful election. Hailed as the first indoor sports center built by a religious organization, the AATF Sports Complex at Imus, Cavite again became the place to accommodate a huge event of the church. A seminar was held before the worship with Bishop Art Ferriol as a speaker. As the famed bishop discussed the event’s theme “Instruments in God’s Rule in the Kingdom of Heaven” (Daniel 5:21), he helped the congregation envisage the scenarios that might happened after the polls as well as explained the role of the church in God’s process of placing officials to govern the country. To officially start the worship, the congregation sang the “Holy, Holy” as the partakers marched through the aisle followed the bishops, Evangelist Let Ferriol, and the Goodman of the House, Apostle Arsenio Ferriol. Then, Bro. Kemuel Quillao and the Manila Praise & Worship Team energized the crowd in singing and glorifying the Name of the Lord. For the invocation, Bishop Rustico Zonio asked the Divine Providence to bless His children as well as the fellowship. To officiate the reading of the Scripture, Marikina District’s Coordinator Pastor Polly Mendoza instructed the congregation to join him in reciting the chapter 10 of the Book of Luke. It was followed by welcoming speech of Evangelist Let, as she expressed the truth of what man can do as the God’s masterpiece – the right of suffrage. For the offertory message, Bishop Osinando Quillao explained to the crowd that “giving for God’s vision is our share to those who preach and teach the Gospel.” Finally, the key message was brought by beloved Apostle Arsenio. He told the brethren that as the people of God were given the right to pray, they must exercise it especially this election wherein the spirit of deceitfulness is in all places. Also happened that day were offering of songs of praises from choirs of Cavite, Manila, Marikina and Rizal, as well as conveying of warm greetings from electoral candidates.
