For its 40 years of molding future ministers and co-workers of God, the Maranatha Bible School of Pentecostal Missionary CHURCH of CHRIST (4th Watch) once again celebrated its establishment through a sports fest. This half-a-week long event started last February 5, 2015 wherein hundreds of students marched from the PMCC Building to Marikina Sports Park which was the venue for athletic games.
The support of the MBS Faculty and PMCC (4th Watch) Marikina Locale administration and its departments was evident in this once a year occasion. Pastor Rene Fremista, the Officer-in-Charge of MBS, spearheaded the event together with Pastor Rey Yton, the Marikina Local Head Pastor. Also, with the presence of their MBS Dean, Apostle Arsenio Ferriol, the morale of the students were rose up even more. Apostle Ferriol also gave a short inspirational message for the players about sportsmanship and camaraderie, and also about valuing godliness above physical things.
Donned with their sports uniforms, the members of teams Ebenezer, Antioch, Philippi, Gilead, Zion, Jerusalem, Mizpah and Bethel compete for the contests such as cheer dance, obstacle relay, tug-of-war, basketball and volleyball. They played in high spirits even under the exhausting heat of the sun.
The next day was the championship match of basketball which was held at Manotoc Basketball Court. While inside the PMCC Building, literary contests were held such as poem and essay writing, and other games like arm wrestling. Then on the evening, declamation contestants and participants of “MBS Got Talent” showed their talents in front of the judges and the audience.
Tonight, February 7 will be the awarding of the winners in this MBS Foundation. MBS students are not only the expected people to flock the PMCC Auditorium and cheer for their team, but also pastors and brethren.
