Graduation is a momentous event to a person’s life, particularly to a student, for this is the day when he or she receives recognition of the accomplishments he or she has done and the fulfillment of his or her aspirations and goals.
The Associate in Theology of the Maranatha Bible School held its 2nd Commencement Exercises last March 24 at the PMCC 4th Watch Marikina Locale. For the first time since last year, it was held separately from the graduation of the Bible Students because of their numbers. Hundreds of brethren as well as scores of visitors gathered as the 200 AIT students, with tears in their eyes remembering how God has been faithful and true, how God has been good all these years in their ministry as AIT Students, walked with pride as their names were called.
As the ceremony began, Sis. Christine Saviour Daganio led the graduates in singing the MBS Hymn and Bro. Ephraim John Evangelista guided them in reciting the MBS Manifesto. The congregational singing was conducted by Sis. Coleen Joyce Daganio before Pastor Reynald Sulayao, Head Pastor of Baguio Locale, entrusted to God the service thru the opening prayer. Sis. Kia Joy Mayuman gave important announcement for the upcoming church events after the reading of the Holy Scriptures was led by Bro. Peter John Manlapig. A song of praise was lifted unto God by selected graduating AIT Students before Bro. Michael James Zonio delivered the offertory message. He encouraged the congregation in giving abundantly for God’s mission. Pastor Let Ferriol introduced to the congregation the faculty members of the MBS.
It has been a tradition in the MBS to have speakers during the commencement exercises but it was the first time in the graduation of the AIT students. The blessed speakers for this year that was introduced by Pastor Lito Dela Torre were the following: firstly, Sis. Margaret Don (Imus, Cavite) persuasively delivered the message of Acceptable Repentance that leads to Salvation; secondly, Bro. Reynald Sulayao Jr. (Baguio) captivatingly preached the message of Faith Preached by the Man Sent by God; and lastly but certainly not the least, Bro. Benjamin Sico (GMA/Marikina) powerfully and eloquently ministered the message of Prayer: the Foundation of a Successful Ministry wherein he movingly and impressively delivered the importance of prayer in the lives of every believers as much as to those who will give their lives fully for the ministry. The congregation was in awe when he presented the chart of the Mystery of Times and Seasons.
Pastor Rene Fremista, MBS Officer-in-charge, presented the 200 AIT graduates to the Apostle, who has given his recommendation before giving their diploma.
Conclusively, the graduates knelt at the stage for a prayer, further dedicating their lives and thanking God for the calling they have received before the final song was sang.
The auditorium was filled with mixed emotions as the ceremony ended with a success and a challenge to the youth in giving their lives for the ministry of saving lives. (P. Manlapig)
